Tegan and Sara are riding high with their latest album, Heartthrob, earning praise from both critics and fans alike, and now they can add "award show host" to their ever-growing list of accomplishments. The out twin sisters have been tapped, along with Machine Gun Kelly, to host the mtvU 9th Annual Woodie Awards on March 14 in Austin, Texas.

Established in 2004, the Woodie Awards showcase rising and independent artists in the music industry. Named after the tradition of giving a wooden record to "artists who generate a passionate response to their music," the Woodies have the history of honoring artists about to break through to mainstream success such as The Killers, Muse, and Vampire Weekend. Tegan and Sara are also nominated for a "Tag Team Woodie" this year for their work with Morgan Page on "Body Work."

mtvU is broadcast to more than 750 college campuses, and with the awards happening during the insanely popular South By Southwest festival in Austin, Tegan and Sara can be sure to add to their rapidly growing fan base.

The 2013 Woodie Awards will air on MTV and mtvU on March 17 at 8pm.
