Thank God Michelle Chamuel Made it to 'The Voice' Finals

There was a single shining light during Tuesday’s The Voice eliminations. Well, for those of us who aren’t fans of mainstream country (give me Alison Krauss and bluegrass any day), there was a single happy moment when out Amherst, Mass. native Michelle Chamuel’s name was announced as a finalist.

Blake Shelton’s heartland team of The Swon Brothers and Danielle Bradbery also landed in the finals.

It was a sad night to see the uber-talented Sasha Allen (the film Camp, and Broadway’s Hair) get passed over in favor of the pleasant but never-rising-to-a-challenge Swons and the wildly talented for her age but imperfect Danielle. Also, Amber Carrington -- I’m pretty sure she’s the love child of Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson both in looks and vocally -- was sent packing. That means both Shakira and Adam Levine don’t have a contestant in the finals.

Chamuel first turned chairs in the blind auditions with and incendiary version of “I Kissed a Girl." Coach Usher's final contestant for weeks now, Michelle went on to blow the doors off of classics and modern hits including P!nk’s “Just Give Me a Reason,” Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors," Bruno Mars’ “Grenade," and Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble."

I’ll tune in to the DVR’ed finals if only to support Michelle and to fast-forward through Blake’s mostly snooze-inducing team.

What can we do to ensure a Michelle win? Here's a little stroll down Michelle memory lane to remind you all of her extreme awesomeness!
