Here’s some good news for your Tuesday! ABC Family has given back-order pickups for its breakout family drama The Fosters, starring Teri Polo and Sherri Saum as lesbian moms raising a biological son, adopted twins and foster kids.
The network has called for a back order on the show of 10 episodes bringing The Fosters first season up from 10 to 20 episodes, which is more in line with a traditional full-season pick-up, Deadline reports. While The Fosters’ summer finale airs next Aug. 5, expect new episodes in Jan. 2014.

Executive produced by Jennifer Lopez, The Fostersis another progressive series from the network that brought us happily out characters on Greek, The Secret Life of the American Teen, and Pretty Little Liars.
According to Deadline ABC Family is cable’s No.1 network in primetime for women 18-34 and No.2 for females aged 12-34.
Since we’ve absolutely fallen for Polo, Saum and The Fosters in general, a show with just about more heart than any we’ve ever seen, we could not be happier about the news!
