Country star Chely Wright has signed on to play Club Skirts The Dinah 2011. Wright rocked the country music world when she came out as a lesbian earlier and since that moment she’s been the toast of the LGBT community. Now, she’s slated to play the world’s largest lesbian event – the Bacchanalian four-day party in the desert that is Club Skirts The Dinah – on April 1st at The Riviera Resort and Spa in Palm Springs.
“We are thrilled to have Chely perform at The Dinah,” says Mariah Hanson, founder of Club Skirts Presents The Dinah. “Symbolically speaking, The Dinah has ultimately become a celebration of the tapestry of women around the world giving every one of them a reason to embrace and honor who they are, and as Chely epitomizes that very concept it was only fitting that we invite her to celebrate our milestone 21st Anniversary.”
Wright joins a long line of hit makers who’ve played The Dinah recently including Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, The Pussycat Dolls and Ke$ha. Not only will Wright be performing but she’ll also be signing copies of her autobiography Like Me poolside at the newly revamped Riviera, The Dinah’s host hotel.
