Moore, who plays a lesbian mom opposite Annette Bening in The Kids Are All Right -- which hits movie theaters July 9 -- told WENN.com regarding gay marriage, "Absolutely, everyone should have the same rights. It's a right, no one should be denied that."

The Oscar nominated actress also remarked about the inequity of gay couples being banned from celebrating their love in a traditional wedding ceremony, according to Aceshowbiz.com

Moore has joined the fight with fellow New Yorker Nixon, who has been vocal in her homestate where she is engaged to her long-term partner Christine Marinoni.

Gay friendly Moore has shown support for the LGBT community for decades, appearing frequently at the GLAAD Media Awards and never shying away from characters with Sapphic tendencies, including in The Hours and in three films in the past year -- The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, Chloe and The Kids are All Right.
