Expect many a fun and surprising album this fall, including several blasts from the past. Starting off the season with a bang on August 31st is Heart’s newest album after six years Red Velvet Car, and fans of the indie band Rilo Kiley can look forward to I’m Having Fun Now, the first CD from Rilo lead singer Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice’s new duo Jenny and Johnny. The 31st brings Michelle Branch’s 6 song EP Everything Comes and Goes, which is undoubtedly a treasure to fans who have been waiting quite a while for new solo material.

September promises to be a busy month, bringing the always pleasant Sarah Bareilles’ newest album Kaleidoscope Heart, and for those of you who can’t wait till September 7th, her single “King of Anything” is already available on iTunes.

On the 7th, also keep an eye out for Body Talk Pt. 2, the sequel to Swedish pop star Robyn’s previous album Body Talk, Pt. 1. Mid-September appears to be the prime time for rock with the release of Linkin Park’s A Thousand Suns, Weezer’s Hurley, and Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers’ first solo venture Flamingo.

For those looking to go in an entirely different direction, on September 14th Olivia Newton-John’s Grace and Gratitude Renewed - a re-recorded version of Grace and Gratitude, her 2006 album dedicated to healing and relaxation- will be released. The renewed version will feature 20+ songs and a bonus track.

September 21st finds Maroon 5 back in action with Hands All Over and new band Versant will be getting its name on the scene with its Heartbeats Ep, which will feature four tracks. While the name Versant may mean nothing to most, lead singer Carah Faye Charnow is recognizable as the former co-vocalist in the alternative band Shiny Toy Guns, whose array of electronic tunes include hit single Le Disko.

The biggest surprise music has to offer in late September, however, is the release of Broadway star Liza Minnelli’s latest solo album Confessions. Confessions will have 10 tracks featuring Liza with piano accompaniment, and a 15 track edition will be also available.

October brings KT Tunstall back to stores with Tiger Suit, which is rumored to contain an entirely different sound than her earlier tracks. R&B star Ciara’s new album Basic Instinct can be found that weekend as well.

Highlights from the 12th and 19th of October include Belle and Sebastian’s Write About Love and Kings of Leon’s Come Around Sundown.

Just about nothing this fall promises to be more popular, however, than Taylor Swift’s latest album Speak Now, which will be available October 25th. With its unique array of tunes, this season’s music selection is sure to rock the charts.
