Fans have been wondering what was going on at this year's Billboard Music Awards.

Cara Delevingne is finally setting the record straight about the Billboard Music Awards where fans were concerned that she was stalking Megan Thee Stallion.

The actress stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon recently, and the conversation quickly turned toward the shenanigans that had Twitter all abuzz.

“No one understood what was happening,” host Jimmy Fallon said, bringing out a framed photo of Thee Stallion on the red carpet and Delevingne holding up the train of her dress.

“Basically I was kind of working as her PA,” Delevingne joked. “No, basically, I was in Vegas with friends, I really wanted to see her play, and she asked me to come along with her. I didn’t know I was going to go and sit or do anything. I thought I was going to come and watch her play.”

Delevingne then explained that she was following Thee Stallion around closely because she was helping her learn lines for a speech the rapper was going to give at the awards show. So when she ended up needing help with other things — like her dress train — Delevingne was already there.

“I was being her hype woman,” Delevingne said, before adding, “I was living my best life, but people found it a bit odd. Which, people find me odd. But that’s me. No shame.”

At the time, some of Thee Stallion’s fans were put off by what they immediately deemed obsessive behavior from Delevingne, not stopping to consider that the two were likely just friends.

As far Delevingne being “a bit odd,” that’s probably a fair assessment. But sometimes having an odd, enthusiastic friend is exactly who you want to bring along to an important event — and it sounds like the two had a great time.
