It's official: Anitta's career in the U.S. is no longer tied to Warner Music Group (WMG), following years of accusations related to miscommunication and back-and-forths between the artist and the record label.
As Anitta continues to expand her global reach and focuses on growing her presence in the U.S. market alongside fellow Latino artists such as Bad Bunny, Karol G, J Balvin, and Maluma, the out bisexual winner has alleged several times over the years that she felt mismanaged by her U.S. record label.
Despite her long-standing relationship with Warner Records in Brazil, Anitta expressed dissatisfaction with the management of her international career. Namely, the singer claims she felt "disrespected" various times by the music label, going as far as sharing a video on social media about the poor treatment she's allegedly received.
Anitta has now shared an Instagram post revealing that she and Warner have reached an agreement to end their ties to one another. "After 11 years of a successful partnership, we've agreed to go our separate ways," a joint statement credited to Anitta and Warner reads. "Anitta would like to thank the Warner Music team for all their support. And the Warner team wishes Anitta all the best in the future."
The Brazilian pop star also shared the same joint statement on social media. (Editor's note: The Instagram post containing the joint statement has since been deleted by all of the involved parties.)
A month ago, Anitta celebrated International Women's Day by breaking down her biggest issues with the label.
The singer shared a series of Instagram stories that read, "Communication at Warner is so good that [they're] posting me on a HAPPY women's day looping post, even though I had to go public to ask for the 'woman respect' that this date represents… using [as] background the song they said would never break without a feat because I wasn't strong enough for that."
For context, the latter was a reference to the song "Envolver," which reached the No. 1 spot on the global charts of Spotify. Anitta alleged that Warner seemingly didn't think the song would be successful without her having a featured artist in it.
Anitta's Instagram stories on March 8 also urged Warner to "respect" her and called out the record label's CEO for not answering emails personally sent by the singer. When fans asked Anitta if there was an amount of money she could pay to get out of her contract with Warner, she noted that this wasnt a possibility at the time.

An agreement has now been reached, which means that Anitta and Warner are going their separate ways. And, well, that's probably good news for both the artist and the company.
