Frank Ocean fans were blindsided this week when it was announced the singer would no longer be headlining Coachella this weekend.

“On doctor’s advice, Frank is not able to perform weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg,” reads a statement from his reps.

Ocean was scheduled to perform again on Sunday, following a confusing set this past weekend that suffered from a delayed start time, disjointed performances, and a last-minute announcement that the show would not be livestreamed.

Now, reps say that these issues were a result of the musician “suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1,” leading to the show being reworked in the final 72 hours so that it could still take place.

“It was chaotic,” Ocean said of the event. “There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”

Fans expressed their disappointment in the change of plans on social media, with some questioning whether his decision to pull out of the show was actually attributable to an inability to perform.

Bad Bunny and Blackpink will still headline Friday and Saturday, respectively, with Blink-182 slated to take over Ocean’s spot on Sunday.
