15 Reasons to Date a Teacher
1. They’re communicators
First and foremost, a teacher's job is to impart knowledge to his students. So it's like they are professional communicators. He'll be able to explain things to you clearly (and if you don't get it at first, he'll know how to explain it to you differently).
2. They’re knowledgeable
Teachers, are well, smart. They have a wealth of information stored in that big, juicy, brains of theirs. They also have a love of learning, and are constantly reading up on topics they find fascinating.
3. They’ll thrive with your parents
One of the many joys of teaching is dealing with obnoxious, aggressive parents who believe their child deserves special treatment. Teachers know how to deal with parents at their worst, so there's no doubt your parents will definitely like them.
4. They value education
I think it's important to be with someone who fully grasps the role that having a solid education can play in our lives. There's so much one can do with it, and hopefully, he'll inspire you to be a life-long learner.
5. They can handle your bullshit
After a long day’s work, I’m sure they don’t want to, but he will know how to deal with your nonsense because God knows they’ve been dealing with crap all day: kids lying about doing their homework, bullying other students, inappropriate behavior, etc.
6. They’re not afraid of bullies
Teachers are accustomed to handling bullies. That's a skillset that many of us don't have. If a man is willing to stand up for his students, he'll absolutely be willing to stand up for the man he loves.
7. They’ll be great if you decide to have kids
I mean, who better to raise a child than a teacher? He spends his days interacting with children, so he knows how to handle them. He also knows how to identify any behavioral issues or learning disabilities early on.
8. You can do the “naughty teacher” dress up thing
"I've been a bad bad, boy Mr. Teacher man. How are you going to punish me? Throw me over the desk and spank me? What can I do to get some extra credit?"
9. They can problem-solve
Kids are weird and constantly amid crises. As a teacher, a number of difficult situations arise, because of this, teachers know how to improvise, problem-solve, and avert potential catastrophes.
10. They have the summers (and holidays) off
Three months off during the summer... how amazing is that? There schedule is also very predictable too, so it's easy to plan date nights in the evenings or schedule a long getaway together.
11. They’re patient
Dealing with students all day, they have to be. Finding a patient person is harder and harder to come by these days. And it seems nearly impossible to find a patient, gay man for some reason. So I can't overstate how lucky you'd be to find someone who doesn't get riled up if they don't get their way immediately.
12. They know what the kids are up to these days
They’re hip. They know what the lingo is, what’s good, what’s going on in pop culture. It's nice to date someone who's in the loop and actually knows how the younger generation thinks.
13. They keep their judgments to themselves
Teachers keep their judgments to themselves...at least the good ones do. They don't shame the 14 year-old boy who is so clearly eating his buggers in the front row of their class. It's like, if they're not judging that kid, you don’t have to worry about them shaming you.
14. They are sexy as all hell
And here’s the proof. Here’s the proof if you need it. But I think we all know. I mean, who among us didn't have at least one crush on one of our high school teachers growing up?
15. They know how to teach
Let's end with the obvious; teachers know how to properly teach you new life skills without making you feel like an idiot. If you want to keep learning throughout your life (and don't you?) then the perfect partner for you to have is a teacher!
