Lady Gaga Tweets to Gay Teen: You're Perfect the Way God Made You

Bisexual singer and gay advocate Lady Gaga expressed her support for 15-year-old Tennessee high school student Cole Goforth, who was sent home by teachers at Greenbrier High School for wearing a T-shirt that said "I Love Lady Gay Gay." Lady Gaga: "I hear that a little monster was discriminated against BY TEACHERS...I love you Cole, you just be yourself," Gaga tweeted Thursday morning while on tour in Australia.

Lady Gaga voiced her support Wednesday and again on Thursday for 15-year-old Tennessee high school student Cole Goforth, who was sent home by teachers at Greenbrier High School for wearing a T-shirt that said "I Love Lady Gay Gay."

"Thank u for wearing your tee-shirt proud at school, you make me so proud, at the monsterball, you are an inspiration to us all. I love you," Gaga tweeted on Wednesday.

"Been in the studio for days and hours of record after record, and when I hear that a little monster was discriminated against BY TEACHERS.

"It reminds me of my commitment love for u, and the deep unconditional devotion I feel to write music that will liberate you from prejudice," the bisexual singer added.

"I love you Cole, you just be yourself," Gaga added Thursday morning while on tour in Australia. "You're perfect the way God made you."

The Advocate reports that the openly gay teen gained the attention of school administrators on Monday when he wore the shirt that pays homage to his favorite singer. He was sent home and ordered to change before returning to school because the shirt was allegedly causing a commotion.

Goforth's mother claimed that the school was violating her son's freedom of speech by sending him home to change when other kids who wear shirts with religious slogans weren't treated the same way.

The teen's mother said her son has worn shirts with the word "gay" on them in the past without issue and believes this is more about her son's look and orientation than the slogan.

"I just think my sexuality isn't widely accepted around here," Goforth said. "So of course they are going to single me out."
