Protesters Arrested at San Diego Prop 8 Sit-In

At least nine people have been arrested in a demonstration at the San Diego county clerk's office Thursday while protesting the ninth circuit’s stay on Proposition 8. A crowd of at least 50 gathered at the office on the day gay and lesbian couples throughout the state would have been lining up to obtain their marriage licenses. Three were taken away from the office in plastic handcuffs with at least six others removed by authorities later.

At least nine people have been arrested in a demonstration at the San Diego county clerk's office Thursday while protesting the ninth circuit’s stay on Proposition 8.
A crowd of at least 50 gathered at the office on the day gay and lesbian couples throughout the state would have been lining up to obtain their marriage licenses. Three were taken away from the office in plastic handcuffs with at least six others removed by authorities later.
A deputy said they were detained for blocking access to a county office.
An early afternoon tweet from GetEqual says 12 arrests have been made, but that number has yet to be confirmed.
