More than a decade since his last hit, Verraros is releasing his new single "Take a Bow"

After 12 long years American Idol’s first gay star is about to drop a new single.

Former reality TV star Jim Verraros is getting ready to release his first new single since his 2011 album Do Not Disturb. The new track “Take a Bow” is a pop song with EDM features.

Verraros shot to fame 21 years ago when he placed ninth on the first season of American Idol. The singer came out as gay in 2002 while on the American Idols LIVE! Tour, making him the first openly gay finalist.

Since then he has released three dance albums, acted in gay comedies like Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild! and two entries in the Eating Out franchise, and become the spokesman and executive vice president of two bridal expos.

The “You Turn It On” singer was first married in 2009, but after separating in 2019 Verrraros got remarried to husband Sean Michael Buck in 2021.

While the sexy star usually posts hot thirst trap photos on social media, recently he’s been counting down the days until the release of “Take a Bow” on his Twitter account, now known as X, writing today, “I cannot wait, you guys! Tomorrow! It’s been 12 years…so many thoughts in my head about coming back to music…but I’m so inspired by our community and it gave me hope that maybe there was room for me, too. I hope you like this one.”

Verraros also posted a teaser of some of the sexually charged lyrics we can expect in his new single. “Watch me on your TV, but you think of me in private, I could be your movie, I could be your love scene, Baby, if you let me, oh.”

The lyrics are super queer and seem to be pointing to a steamy secret affair, “I could be your starlet, I could be your harlot, I could be the skeleton you’re keeping in your closet. I could be your dirty, dirty little secret, baby you can keep it, oh.”

We can’t wait to get our hands on the new single tomorrow!

“Take My Bow” is available now for pre-save on most digital and streaming platforms and will be released on Friday, Sept. 15.
