Disney/Lucasfilm Breaks Gender Stereotypes in Epic Star Wars Social Media Response
The gender equality is strong with this one! The social media monitors over at Disney/Lucasfilm won the day when they responded to a rather gendered (and sexist) comment on an image of Captain Phasma on their Facebook page.
Captain Phasma will appear in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens film this December, and is a character shrouded in mystery. Pretty much all we know is: She's a leader of the First Order's stormtrooper legions and wears bad-ass chrome armor.
Yep. A she. Phasma is played by actress Gwendoline Christie, of Game of Thrones fame. And no, she doesn't have ridiculous boob-armor. Which seemed to confuse a certain Facebook fan. Luckily, the Star Wars social media monitor jumped in like a well-trained Jedi with this perfect response:
Boom. May the Force be with you.
