Fans Are Petitioning to #SaveSpidey & Bring Him Back to the MCU

Is there a chance Spider-Man's place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be saved? The fans sure hope so...
All fandom hell broke loose yesterday when it was revealed that after a financial dispute between Disney-owned Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, the fate of legendary superhero Spider-Man (aka Peter Parker, played by the lovely Tom Holland) and his place in the extremely popular Marvel Cinematic Universe would be left up in the air.Â
Not ones to back down easily, Marvel fans quickly went on the offensive and took to Twitter to air out their frustrations about the whole situtation, with hashtags like #SaveSpidey and #SaveSpiderMan quickly trending worldwide.Â

“For real tho both Disney and Sony are acting like clowns and while I can see Sony’s perspective they rly didn’t have to sabatoge his potential like this ugh #SaveSpidey”— JESS 💖 (@JESS 💖) 1566362971

“Imagine how Tom Holland feels. He was cast to be the Spider-Man in the MCU, specifically so his character could be in the Avengers. Now he’s being told he can’t play in that playground anymore and has to be stuck with Sony’s leftovers. #SaveSpidey”— ManaByte 🇺🇦 #StandWithUkraine (@ManaByte 🇺🇦 #StandWithUkraine) 1566406240

While Sony, who currently owns the rights to the Spider-Man IP, did release a statement about Marvel's involvement in future Spidey movies and how they hope the whole situation changes, it's understandable that many fans are upset, especially since the character has been so well-received in recent MCU movies.Â
*sigh*Â
Will we everget the chance to see a bisexual Spider-man on the big screen?!?Â
