Your Favorite Artists Re-Imagined Classic Love Songs for Gay Couples

Kesha, Bob Dylan, St. Vincent and more!

A few of our favorite musicians have come together to make the world a little bit gayer.

Bob Dylan, Valerie June, Benjamin Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie, as well as queer artists Kesha, St. Vincent, and Bloc Party's Kele Okereke, re-imagined some classic love and wedding songs for gay couples, complete with same-sex pronouns.

Okereke remade The Temptations' "My Girl" and says he found power in flipping the heteronormativity of a song so "intrinsically woven into the public consciousness."

"I think the great thing about music is that it transcends all the barriers and boundaries and goes right to people’s hearts, and everyone has a heart," explained St. Vincent. "Music's always been about changing culture."

"When I was approached for this project, I instantly said yes, it was a no-brainer," declared pop-star Kesha.
