All Hail President Lil Nas X in Hilarious, Futuristic VMAs Performance

We've decided to stan forever!

Lil Nas X stormed the MTV Video Music Awards stage with a futuristic performance of his latest single "Panini," complete with choreography, costumes, and of course, an assault of hilarious memes.

In his introduction of X, Billy Ray Cyrus commends him for inspiring "people around the world to be their true selves." X came out as gay on the last day of Pride Month earlier this year.

Cyrus' speech launched into a news reel from the future. The year is 2079 and President Lil Nas X's just dropped his latest "Old Town Road" remix featuring Yung Sandwich and Megan Thee Stallion's twerk wind. That is, of course, referencing the many remixes X dropped to help the song maintain its #1 spot for a record-smashing 19 weeks

The rest of the incredible performance speaks for itself!

Later that evening, Lil Nas X won the VMA for Song of the Year, his "first award ever."
