Ben Platt & Beanie Feldstein Blessed the World With a Duet

The two queer actors performed a virtual rendition of "It Takes Two" for Stephen Sondheim's birthday celebration—and we had no choice but to stan!

Last night, some of Broadway and Hollywood's best and brightest came together to (virtually) celebrate the life and legacy of legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, and while everyone was talking about how epic Meryl Streep, Audra McDonald, and Christine Baranski's "The Ladies Who Lunch" rendition was (yes, it was indeed epic), we can't help but focus our attention to the duo we didn't know we needed in the world: Ben Platt and Beanie Feldstein.

The two queer actors (you know the newly-mustached Ben from The Politician and his Tony-winning performance in Dear Evan Hansen, and you know Beanie from Lady Bird and Booksmart) got together via Zoom and sang their own version of "It Takes Two" from Into the Woods.

We're not sure what we did to deserve such a joyous collaboration, but we apparently did something right, because seeing the two singing together is truly a blessing! And now we want to see the two work together again in some kind of capacity. You know, besides that movie that's gonna be released in, like, 20 years from now...
