Singer-songwriter John Duff just dropped an empowering self-love anthem for anyone out there hoping to follow their dreams!
In the new music video premiering exclusively on PRIDE, Duff dances alone in his home, scantily clad in speedos and jockstraps, with a flirty wink at the camera, paying homage to the likes of Risky Business, Richard Simmons, and even a few of his favorite pop divas.
"As a thirty-one-year-old gay man making music, I understand the optics," said the "Girly" singer in a statement. "Are people going to laugh at me? Probably...but then I don’t lose anything if they do. If I give up, however, I do lose something. I lose time. I lose opportunity. I lose love."
While Duff mentions in the song that he "ain't got nothing to prove," that's not entirely true. "I have a lot to prove, but only to myself," he reflected. "I’m a science experiment. I am here to prove that I can keep coming out, falling on my face, and surviving. I’m here to prove that the human soul is more resilient than plastic."
