Merriam-Webster just added more than 640 new words to the dictionary, including a slew of LGBTQ jargon like gender nonconforming, bottom surgery, and stan. 

You heard right, stan is now listed in the Merriam-Webster dictionary. 

The term is credited to a 1999 Eminem song of the same name that features an obsessive fan. Merriam-Webster defines it as a "fandom to an extreme or excessive degree."

If you want it in a sentence, the definition reads, "I stanned pretty hard for Christina [Aguilera] as a teen; I remember begging my mom for tickets to the Justified/Stripped tour, and even from our nosebleed seats, Christina's voice was stunning."

We stan!

Following the Trump election and rise of conservative's fear of "PC culture," Merriam-Webster has also updated the definition for snowflake. "Now used to mean both 'someone regarded or treated as unique or special' and 'someone who is overly sensitive."

This snowflake feels so seen.

EGOT: "An entry in the dictionary seems like an appropriate award for the acronym that stands for the rare achievement of winning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony."

Gender Nonconforming: "exhibiting behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits that do not correspond with the traits typically associated with one's sex."

Top Surgery: "a type of gender confirmation surgery in which a person's breasts are removed or augmented to match their gender identity."

Bottom Surgery: "a type of gender confirmation surgery in which a person's genitalia are altered to match their gender identity."
