We didn't know we wanted this, and yet now we're endlessly intrigued.

We're not sure a CW development pitch has ever sounded more awesome/strange than this. According to Entertainment Weekly, a script based on Louisa May Alcott's beloved 1868 novel Little Women is currently in the hands of the CW and being developed in one of the most unexpected ways ever. Written by Alexis Jolly and produced by Solar Drive Productions, this “hyper-stylized, gritty adaptation,” will feature Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy as they “band together in order to survive the dystopic streets of Philadelphia.” Now, why didn't anyone think of that before?! At first glance, this looks like maybe it was some Little Women meets The Walking Dead potential, and while we never expected those two references to fall together in a sentence, we can't say we're not falling in love with the idea at least a little bit. Even better, the CW's been stepping up its game lately - as we discussed previously - so we'll definitely be holding out hope for the absolute best out of this amazingly odd situation.
