Andrew Guy Just Became Australia’s First Trans TV Host
Andrew Guy just became Australia’s first trans TV host after winning the #YourChair radio competition sponsored by Channel 10’s The Project.
\u201cThanks for joining us Andrew Guy as our first #YourChair winner for the week! #TheProjectTV\u201d— The Project (@The Project) 1441618832
He was a one-day host, but his presence represented a seismic shift in the representation of trans folk down under. In addition to sharing his experiences and life story, a short documentary, It’s Not about the Sex, went into detail about his childhood and journey to gender transition.
The 33-year-old has documented his transition on Youtube for years, so he’s no stranger to the camera. Hopefully, this won’t be the last time we see him.
