It’s time to address bisexual erasure, and Camille of GayWrites has something to say about it.
A few months ago, Camille posted about bisexual erasure and was hit with some -- shall we say -- not very nice comments that questioned her authenticity because of one comment she made about her personal, lived experience.
Sometimes, I call myself "gay" instead of "bisexual,” Camille said in her initial video about bisexual erasure. She explained, “It's not because I'm pretending not to be bi; it's because I've internalized so much of the horrific stigma that surrounds bisexual identity, and I have trouble feeling like I belong in queer communities as a bi woman. But I'm working through it!”
Camille addresses the dust-up over her comment and clarifies her position in the video below.
