While performing a reading of her book Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl in Pasadena, singer and Portlandia/Transparent star Carrie Brownstein and friend Amy Poehler suddenly found themselves officiating an impromptu wedding.
It was during a Q&A session that Kendall Oshiro and Genevieve Hernandez asked Brownstein if they could get married right then and there with her to officiate. Brownstein had recently become an ordained minister in order to perform a wedding in a few weeks for some friends.
The couple had come prepared with a marriage license. Amy Poehler’s immediate response was, “you gotta do it!”
While Brownstein prepared a few words spontaneously, Poehler sat down at the piano to play the first part of "Greensleeves" (the only piano arrangement she knows).
The whole ceremony took place in less than ten minutes, and it was both funny and touching. Watch the video below and try not to cry.
