1) Violette Leduc
Acclaimed French author Violette Leduc, best known for her memoir La Bâtarde, was openly bisexual. She explored her first affair with a woman in Thérèse and Isabelle, which was originally cut from her novel Ravages for being too sexually explicit about lesbian relationships. Leduc was also linked to writer Maurice Sachs, and a long unrequited crush on friend and mentor, Simone de Beauvoir.
