Music mogul, songwriter and LGBT rights advocate Linda Perry appeared on CBS’s The Talk Tuesday –not so coincidentally her girlfriend Sara Gilbert’s show—to discuss her upcoming yearly passion project An Evening with Women, a fundraiser for the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center.

The Talk cohost Sharon Osborne asked Perry about the programs the Center provides. The former 4 Non Blondes front woman informed Osborne and the audience of a few of the Center’s amazing programs including resources it provides for LGBT senior citizens and youth.

Later on the show Perry performed her anthem “Beautiful,” made famous by Christina Aguilera.

This year’s An Evening with Women is May 19, and features co-chair Perry, Wanda Sykes, Aimee Mann and Courtney Love among others.

"'An Evening with Women' benefits the Center’s vital services for women and girls, including: food and shelter for homeless youth; services for seniors; legal assistance; domestic violence services; health and mental health services and cultural arts programs. Last year’s event raised more than $365,000 for these vital services,” according to information from the LA Gay and Lesbian Center.
