Shot of the Day: 'Smash' Stars Hilty, Hudson and McPhee Sizzle for EW

We couldn’t resist posting the Smash diva triumvirate as a Shot of the Day, even if Katharine McPhee’s over-chiseled cheekbones were left in the hands of a fervent Photoshopper. We’re just beyond excited to see two see former American Idol and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson join fellow Idol alum Katherine considering they’re reaping more success than 80 percent of the show’s winners (Kelly Clarskon and Carrie Underwood excluded obviously).

We couldn’t resist posting Entertainment Weekly's Smash diva triumvirate as a Shot of the Day, even if Katharine McPhee’s over-chiseled cheekbones were left in the hands of a fervent Photoshopper. We’re just beyond excited to see two see former American Idol and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson join fellow Idol alum Katherine considering they’re reaping more success than 80 percent of the show’s winners (Kelly Clarskon and Carrie Underwood excluded obviously). Throw in the sizzling and adorable, vocally versatile Megan Hilty and we might not even notice if Smash’s writing is as occasionally painful as the first season. Still, we are totally excited to these three in a battle of the belting come the show's season two premiere Feb. 5.
