While Glee has definitely seen better seasons than this schizophrenic fourth season, we are pretty excited for Idina Menzel’s return as Rachel’s mom Shelby on tonight’s episode. Glee’s as good as it gets when Broadway babies Idina and Lea Michele (Rachel) have performed together (Santana’s songs withstanding).
As tonight’s story goes, Shelby turns up in New York to give Rachel that extra push for to Broadway, and they sing Emeli Sande’s killer “Next to Me” together. It could really only be better if Santana (Naya Rivera) joined in at some point.
