The critically acclaimed Natalie Portman vehicle Black Swan has landed multiple nominations for major awards including The Golden Globes and The Screen Actors Guild Awards. And an aspect of the film’s mise en scene that made it so visually arresting, save for the sheer beauty of Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, is the costuming. Created with a keen color palette that speaks to the characters’ psyches, costumer Amy Westcott’s costumes helped to enhance the film’s language beyond the dialogue and plot.
