Over 1,000 people attended the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center’s 39th Anniversary Gala and Auction on Nov. 13 in Century City this past weekend. Three iconic funny ladies - Kathy Griffin, Jane Lynch and Lily Tomlin - took the stage to make the gala, making for a very entertaining evening.
The evening’s highlights included Tomlin performing as switchboard operator Ernestine, speeches by Glee’s Ryan Murphy and Matthew Morrison, who presented Jane Lynch with the Center’s Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award, Julie Brown’s musical sendup of Madonna’s “Vogue,” and a speech by Center CEO Lorri L. Jean, who announced plans to work with L.A. schools to make life better for LGBT youth by putting a stop to bullying and harassment.
