'True Blood' Gets an Influx of Girl Power: Janina Gavankar, Alexandra Breckenridge and more...

True Blood casting directors have been busy with the upcoming fourth season, and this year they are casting some strong new female roles. The lovely actress who played Shane’s lesbian lothario nemesis Papi on The L Word, Janina Gavankar, is joining the True Blood cast, as is Alexandra Breckenridge of Dirt and Life Unexpected. Vedette Lim is also joining the cast, and Jessica Tuck, who plays Nan Flanagan, is being upgraded to a series regular. It will be interesting to see how all of these various characters play out with Sookie, Bill, Eric, Tara, Pam and the gang...

True Blood casting directors have been busy with the upcoming fourth season, and this year they are casting some strong new female roles. The lovely actress who played Shane’s lothario nemesis Papi on The L Word, Janina Gavankar, is joining the True Blood cast, as is Alexandra Breckenridge of Dirt and Life Unexpected, according to Deadline.

Gavankar, who also starred in The Gates, will play a sexy shapeshifter named Luna who happens to be a public school teacher. Her first scene will be at a shapeshifter gathering, according to Deadline.

A few weeks ago we reported that Fiona Shaw will join the cast of True Blood as a Marnie, a Wiccan. And now it’s revealed that Breckenridge will star as Daisy, a member of Marnie’s group.

If that weren’t enough, Vedette Lim is set to play  fierce-fighter Naomi, who kicks ass in underground cage matches for a living.



And -- one more great piece of news of new blood on True Blood – Jessica Tuck, who plays the head of the American Vampire League, who has exhibited some Sapphic tendencies, Nan Flanagan, is being upgraded to a series regular.



Last season saw an influx of new male characters but the upcoming season seems to be all about the ladies. It will be interesting to see how all of these various characters play out with Sookie, Bill, Eric, Tara, Pam and the gang...
