Wanda Sykes 'New Adventures of Old Christine' Gets the Ax

Wanda Sykes is having a bad week. First her Fox talk show was cancelled and now CBS announced it would cancel seven shows for next season, including The New Adventures of Old Christine. The half-hour comedy starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus costarred Wanda Sykes, whose character Barb Baran married Dreyfus's character Christine Campbell to keep from being deported.

Wanda Sykes is having a bad week. First her Fox talk show was cancelled and now CBS announced it would cancel seven shows for next season, including The New Adventures of Old Christine, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The half-hour comedy starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus costarred Wanda Sykes, whose character Barb Baran married Dreyfus's character Christine Campbell to keep from being deported.

The show won an award from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation in 2009 for Outstanding Individual Episode. Sykes was also nominated for an NAACP Image Award in 2009 for her role on the show.

Sykes's eponymous talk show on Fox was canceled last week. Sykes was also nominated for an NAACP Image Award in 2009 for her role on the show.
