Just because we’re between seasons of the Harley Quinn animated series doesn’t mean the titular villain-turned-hero isn’t getting up to her usual crazy antics!

Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: Legion of Bats!, the companion comic to the HBO Max show, has continued following Harley as she teams up with the Bat Family to actually fight crime rather than pursue it.

As recently pointed out by CBR, in issue #3, this leads Harley to hilariously try to pull together her own costume to match their vibe — what can only be described as her own version of a Batgirl look, with a bat-themed shower curtain paired with Catwoman’s outfit. And she's decided to call herself Red Bat, although knowing Harley's whims, that very well may not last.

The series has also been teasing a little bit of trouble in paradise for Harley and Ivy after the latter’s ex-flame rolled into town.

But whatever happens with that, it seems unlikely to have a long-term impact on the fan-favorite couple as far as the animated series goes. Showrunners Patrick Schumacker and Justin Halpern were previously very clear that they never intended to break the couple up.

And even though they’ve handed the reins over to Sarah Peters for season four, she’s noted (via IndieWire) that she’s interested in exploring the impact Harley’s decision to work for the “good guys” means for the relationship “without having their relationship story being at the forefront.”

Season four is set to premiere sometime in 2023, but we still have a new Valentine’s Day special to look forward to ahead of that. And in the meantime, Harley Quinn: The Animated Series: Legion of Bats! is right there to fill the void.

Who is Harley Quinn's girlfriend?

Every iteration of Harley varies across mediums, but in the HBO Max series and the related comic series, Harley is dating Poison Ivy.

Is Harley Quinn suitable for children?

Nope! This animated series and its companion are for the adults.

Will there be a season 3 of Harley Quinn?

Yes, it will premiere on HBO Max sometime in 2023.
