Avan Jogia just quietly changed his pronouns to he/they, with the help of a funny TikTok.

The actor shared a casual video with audio taken from an interview with a man in Arkansas, in which he declares, “I’m a male. I’m a man. I’m a ‘he.’ I don’t get into that mentally ill stuff.”

Jogia left the audio as is but added a telling caption to the video.

“Not that he honestly and if im being real? i probably get into that mentally ill stuff,” he wrote.

Not that he honestly and if im being real? i probably get into that mentally ill stuff…

As noted by Queerty yesterday, Jogia appeared to update their pronouns on the platform to “he/they” at around the same time.

Fans were hyped about it, and shared as much on social media.

“avan jogia he/they pronouns… we smiled today,” wrote one person on Twitter.

“they’re just so hot in a genderless way,” added another.

Jogia has previously expressed disinterest in fitting people into nice little boxes when it comes to sexuality, so it’s no surprise that he might feel similarly about gender.

“My personal feeling on the idea of labels… I feel there is so much at play when it comes to sexuality. Sexuality is a spectrum,” they told Attitude while playing a queer character in Starz’s Now Apocalypse. “It’s unceremonious and a bit slap-dash to label myself or anyone in a category like that. I have never felt comfortable with those kinds of absolutes and extremes.”
