Taron Egerton Clears Up Coming Out Rumors: 'I'm Not Gay'

The Kingsman actor opened up about his sexuality in a recent interview.

Late last month, Kingsman actor Taron Egerton posted a photo of a mystery man on Instagram captioned, "Cutie. My boy," with a heart emoji and sent fans into a frenzy.

The photo in question led people to believe that Egerton was subtly coming out as gay, and when someone in the comments asked the name of the guy in the photograph, OUT reported Egerton replied, "nah, he's mine and mine only." He also liked a comment that read, "does that mean he's got a boyfriend now?"

But Metro reports that wasn't exactly the case. The 29-year-old star of the upcoming Elton John biopic Rocketman cleared up his digital drama during an interview with Radio Times

"One of the lads was at my London flat and I Instagrammed a picture of him and said, 'Look at this cutie,' and a million outlets reported I was coming out as gay," said Egerton. "I’m not gay but two of my mates came out when I was 15 and it was a joy to support them because, as a group, we are all secure in who we are.

"I’m certainly not going to stop calling my mates cuties and gorgeous because they are cuties and they are gorgeous."

Sorry to get your hopes up lads!
