We’re ready for queer romcoms to take over Hollywood!

The romcom just isn’t what it used to be, but we’re finally getting a glimpse of a resurgence of the genre, thanks in part to streaming services. And for the LGBTQ+ community, this provides hope that we’ll finally get the queer romcoms we’ve always deserved.

There have been a smattering of these films over the years — some good, some not so great — but we’re lacking anything resembling the vast catalogue of romcoms straight people have to cuddle up to and enjoy. We’re also missing the mainstream, in most cases — queer romcoms with real star power drawing audiences in.

So when @FilmUpdates recently asked the question, “Who is your dream rom-com pairing?” there was no shortage of responses that the LGBTQ+ community would love.

“this photo of Pedro Pascal and Oscar Isaac is something that can be so personal…”

“the chemistry would be inSANE”

“them”

“straight actors should leave gay roles for gay actors except for the gay romcom we all need starring dave baustista and john cena”

“need them to link up like rn https://t.co/5cn7yc3c8T”

“Hear me out, a gay romcom starring them as the classic enemies to lovers ♥️”
