Is 'Titans' Getting an LGBT Character in Season 2?

More queer superhero representation may be coming our way via DC Universe!

We'll admit that the first couple of (very rough-looking) trailers for the live-action adaptation of DC's iconic Teen Titans (simply entitled Titans) had us a little bit worried, but the fan favorite series is actually pretty good so far. Although we're only two episodes in, a second season has already been confirmed for DC's new streaming platform DC Universe. And the good news? The show might be introducing viewers to another queer character!

When asked in a recent interview with TVLine about the possibility of adding an LGBT character to the show, Titans executive producer Geoff Johns said:

"Of course. There’s one Titan that already is gay, that we’ve talked about bringing on — probably next season."

According to TVLine, Johns was probably alluding to a character by the name of Miguel Jose Barragan, also known as Bunker. As The Mary Sue points out, Bunker is "a metahuman from El Chilar, Mexico. Bunker, who is openly gay, has the ability to create psionic energy constructs, which often manifest as purple bricks he can use to attack enemies or protect himself as armor."

We'll have to wait and see if all the speculation turns out to be true, but the possibility of the TV world getting another queer character for LGBT superhero fans to enjoy and look up to is an exciting one!

The first season of Titans is currently streaming on the DC Universe platform! Watch the trailer for Titans in the video below!
