Greg Berlanti Is Working on a Green Lantern Series for HBO Max
The mastermind behind Love, Simon and the Arrowverse is bringing more superhero content to our screens!
Greg Berlanti is giving LGBTQ+ geeks everything they want!
The Love, Simon director and executive producer of numerous (incredibly queer-inclusive) Arrowverse titles is blessing our screens with even more superhero content by bringing us an upcoming series inspired by DC Comic's iconic hero Green Lantern for HBO Max!

As if that wasn't already enough to get us geeking out, there's also reports that Berlanti is also working on yet another new DC show for HBO's upcoming streaming service, an anthology series entitled Strange Adventures.
"Both of these original DC properties we’ll be creating for HBO Max will be unlike anything seen on television," Berlanti said in a statement reported by Entertainment Weekly. "An anthology series of cautionary tales set in a world where superpowers exist, and, in what promises to be our biggest DC show ever made, we will be going to space with a Green Lantern television series, but I can’t reveal any more about that just yet."
EW also reports that this isn't Berlanti's first time working with the Green Lantern property. He co-wrote the live-action movie adaptation starring Ryan Reynolds back in 2011, but because that film was such a commercial failure, he hasn't been able to do much with the character ever since. So the news of Berlanti getting to do a Green Lantern TV series serves as a redemption arc for fans of the beloved Justice League hero!
Considering his history of making incredibly diverse and queer-friendly television, we can't wait to see what direction Berlanti takes the new Green Lantern! (Hopefully it's a super gay one!!!)
