Add Your Voice for Equality: Say 'I Do' Campaign

After Prop 8 passed in California, followed by Measure One in Maine, we were heartbroken. How could an attack on love and equality be so effective? Why did the lies work? They worked because they were spoken over and over, with one voice – a singular message from which our opponents never wavered. Our side never had that. 

Valerie Alexander, Meghan Foster, Bruce Novotny and Lisa Renee plan to change all that with the Say 'I Do' campaign. These four activists and entertainment professionals are working to create powerful, emotional commercials putting LOVE front and center in this fight, and reminding people that choosing equality is the right thing to do.

These ads go straight to the heart of the matter – two old men finally exchanging vows after a lifetime commitment together; a young man standing helpless outside the hospital door as the parents of his soulmate decide to take their son off life-support.  

What’s unique about these videos, aside from heart-wrenching emotion, is that they include four seconds of blank screen, so that ANY organization in the world can license them, add their own message and logo, and run them on television within their territory. As a result, love speaks with a unified message worldwide, and every pro-equality organization controls how and when to use that message most effectively in the fight for equality.
