More than 30,000 people—gay, straight, bi, trans, allies, friends, and everyone else under the big gay rainbow— came together to celebrate diversity in the desert.

Phoenix Gay Pride 2011 was early in the season (April 16-17, 2011 in Steele Indian Park), but the pictures are so great we wanted to make sure everyone got a look.

More than 30,000 people—gay, straight, bi, trans, allies, friends, and everyone else under the big gay rainbow— came together to celebrate diversity in the desert.

Lynda Carter, of Wonder Woman fame, was one of the Celebrity Grand Marshals along with Derek & Romaine from OUTq Channel 109 on Sirius Radio. The Community Grand Marshals were human rights activists Jimmy Gruender and Meg Sneed, while the LGBTQ Youth Grand Marshal was 15-year-old Caleb Laieski of Gays & Lesbians United Against Discrimination.

Scheduled festival performers included Uh Huh Her, comedian Carlease Burke, Shiny Toy Guns, Ari Gold, Velvet Nation, Blake Lewis and Tiffany.

Check out photos from Devon Christopher Adams, who was one of the official photographers for Phoenix Pride, in this wonderful slideshow.
