This year Indiana University set a record for enrollment of international and minority students, so many students are surprised to hear reports of what is said to be a racially motivated attack. Police are investigating details of an attack on a group of students Sunday morning on the IU campus.

According to the police report, a group of African American men and women shouted to a group of Asian American students "here comes China town," and other racial slurs. After a heated exchanged, two of the students were beat up, and another two were robbed. The suspects took an iPad, an iPod and headphones.

The local police have been in touch with their FBI office, asking them to review the case and investigate any civil rights violations.

The attack comes as the school sets on a mission to recruit more minority and international students. Both students and police consider this case to be extremely isolated, but one that they take seriously.
