We knew we were getting a Beyoncé documentary on Netflix today, but we didn’t know we’d be getting a surprise album as well.
Then again, it’s Beyoncé. We probably should have guessed.
The release of Homecoming, the doc following the creation and execution of Bey’s iconic Coachella performance, was accompanied by a release of Homecoming: The Live Album.
As the title suggests, the album isn’t new music, but rather a collection of the live performances from the Coachella set.
However, it does feature a new cover — “Before I Let Go” by Maze and Frankie Beverly — as well as a live version of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by Blue Ivy.
The internet is digging this double drop from Beyoncé, and honestly we can’t blame them.
