Iron Chef Cat Cora Cited for DUI

Chef Cat Cora was arrested in Santa Barbara, Calif., June 17 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Acclaimed chef and television personality Cat Cora is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment later this month after she was arrested in Santa Barbara, Calif., June 17 for driving under the influence of alcohol, AfterEllen reported.

Cora, driving a Chevy Tahoe, rear-ended a BMW 325i at an intersection. When officers questioned her, she said she had three beers at a bar after having an argument with her partner, the Santa Barbara Independent reports. Two breathalizer tests and a blood test showed Cora's blood alcohol level was about 0.19 at the time of the arrest.

Cora is being charged with one DUI count, and another count of driving with a blood-alcohol level higher than 0.08.

“I deeply regret my decision to drive that evening after my designated driver became unavailable," Cora said in a statement according to the Independent. "I learned a very important lesson from this experience and take full accountability for my actions. This will never happen again.”
