Actress Charlize Theron speaks up in support of gay marriage in disapproval of the California Supreme Court upholding of Prop 8, the ban of same-sex marriage.
Charlize said on Tuesday:
"I am deeply disappointed by the Supreme Court's ruling on Prop 8 today. I don't agree with homophobia or discrimination of any kind. I will continue to fight this fight for equality and speak up for the basic civil rights of all Americans."
She was also recently in the news when she announced her endorsement of Meet in the Middle in Fresno, CA, on behalf of the Courage Campaign.
The Meet in the Middle rally is planned for the Saturday following the announcement of the Prop 8 court decision, which is now set to happen May 30th. The rally is to kick off a national effort to gain full equality for the LGBT community, including tackling the challenges of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and trans-inclusive Employee Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).
