Women's rights organization UltraViolet has
been campaigning since February to get FIFA to award the same prize to women players as they do to men. Team USA's win on July 5th has brought a renewed effort on that front. On Friday, the group will take its message to the air and the road. From 9am-12pm, a plane will fly over New York City pulling a banner that reads "@UltraViolet: FIFA-- Equal Pay 4 Equal Play." Bicycles with a similar message will be ridden all over the city. The Women's World Cup parade will begin at 11am, and any FIFA officials in attendence will be hard pressed to miss the message.
Most of the USWNT has remained silent on the issue, although Hope Solo and former captain
Christie Rampone have made their views clear.
