WHERE IS MY INVITE?!?
This Thanksgiving, we’re thinking of all the queer reasons we have to be thankful.
What are we even celebrating again...?
Let's all watch Lez Bomb and question why she kissed her brother?
Lady Gaga has taken her anti-bullying message to the I Heart Radio concert, where she performed a tribute to suicide victim Jamey Rodemeyer, then she went to a fundraiser with President Obama to raise the issue in person. And in her national Thanksgiving special broadcast on ABC nationally on Thursday, she didn't shy away from using the big platform to raise the issue with American families.
Every year I submit this piece for Thanksgiving because it captures, in my humble opinion, the best way I can express my outrage of the genocide of Native Americans that is summarily glossed over with a national celebration and an annual holiday of its occupiers. "Yes, there's internalized homophobia in every gay community, but as Native Americans we are taught not to like ourselves because we're not white. In our communities, people don't like us because we're gay."
Thanksgiving is here and I'm spending it with football watchers. We have our favorites/rivalries for watching the guys play, but what about televised women's events? I resorted to Twitter, started with the lesbians; next other women athletes, and came up with Tanith Belbin, Tara Dakides, Lauren Perkins, Kristi Leskinen, and more.
For the last eight years, families -- all kind of families -- across the country have gathered together for food, fun, love and perhaps a little dysfunction on Thanksgiving. Political Editor Libby Post pauses to give thanks.
Thanksgiving, football and booze. Nothing beats sitting on the couch with the boys watching a few games, tossing a few back, trying not to doze off before dinner is served because you were up at the ass-crack of dawn playing the infamous Turkey Bowl.
Millions of unsuspecting viewers had the gay agenda broadcast directly into their homes for the holidays.
Being alone on the holidays doesn’t have to bring you down.
Three looks for your holiday meal.
We found a few things to distract yourself while your family is screaming either about God, football, or God playing football.
A Thanksgiving Day assault on a young lesbian in Mobile County, Alabama has infuriated LGBT activists who have responded with a viral campaign to get hate crime charges against the alleged perpetrator.
The holidays tend to bring friends, family and exes out of the wood work, and this Thanksgiving Chicago Fire’s lesbian character Shay (Lauren German) gets a visit from her ex Clarice (Shiri Appleby). Judging from Appleby’s IMDB page this is just the first we can hope to see of Clarice and Shay.
In between cooking, eating, shopping, or whatever your Turkey Day traditions may be, make the most of TV time with this guide to the best specials.
It’s the kick-off of the holiday season, and while Thanksgiving through the New Year is typically a time to spend with family, friends and loved ones, here are a few pop culture releases to help pass the time huddled up on the couch – if you live in a colder climate – or to load on to the iPod for that car trip enroute to the family gathering. Here are a few newer items to engage a girl this holiday weekend including the lesbian-themed The Kids Are All Right, Pink's Greatest Hits...So Far!!!, Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday, Annie Lennox's A Christmas Cornucopia, The Four-Faced Liar and Elena Undone and, of course, Cher and Burlesque.
We don't pick the family we're born into, but we do pick our queer chosen family.
