FX's incredibly diverse, Emmy-nominated series POSE has been praised by fans and critics for its portrayal of the New York City ball scene during the HIV/AIDS crisis of the '80s and '90s and for giving a voice to the many Black and Brown queer and trans people who were largely ignored by the mainstream gay rights movement. But the series' groundbreaking representation apparently still isn't enough for some people who try to make jokes about it.
"So POSE is just Glee with a viral load now?" Blake McIver, former child actor and star of The Little Rascals, tweeted in a very poor attempt at humor. As expected, not one person found McIver's serophobic joke funny, and people rightfully took to Twitter to call him out:
After his tweet went viral for all the wrong reasons, McIver has since deleted his Twitter account. Let this be a lesson for the rest of us out there: this is exactly what NOT to do on Twitter...
