Happy birthday, Julianne Moore! That's right, today is one of our favorite actress and LGBT ally's 55th birthday, and we wouldn't dare let it go by without a celebration. Though one could argue every year is successful for Julianne Moore on account of being Julianne Moore, 2015 has been especially glorious, with awesome films and accolades abounding. Here are 5 reasons Julianne had one of her best years ever, and we hope her birthday is just as great!

5.  She won a damn Oscar

A damn Oscar! Seriously, what better way to start 2015 than by winning an Oscar? Julianne picked up the prize for her role as a wife and mother suffering from early-onset Alzheimer's in Still Alice, and the Academy recognition was certainly a long time coming. You go, Julianne Moore. And you keep going!

4. She broke our hearts in Freeheld

Julianne starred alongside Ellen Page in Freeheld, playing a police officer fighting to leave her pension benefits to her partner after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. This gripping true story isn't the first time Julianne's played a queer character either. Check out our definitive ranking right here!

3. She continued to proudly fight for LGBT equality

Earlier in the year, Julianne joined Lambda Legal's "I Do" campaign in urging people to not only support marriage equality, but to look towards the future and see how we can affect positive change in all areas of LGBT life. Julianne Moore: not only making movies, but making change.

2. She was a silver-y force to be reckoned with in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

Katniss was never sure if she could trust President Coin, but as an audience we knew we could trust Julianne to give a chillingly on-point performance, right down to her very last moment of screen time. Leave it to Julianne to take an already successful franchise by storm.

1. She made this gut-busting Billy on the Street appearance

We laughed. We cried. We cried with laughter. Julianne sprinting across Times Square delivering monologues from her acclaimed films with utmost acting perfection for cash alongside Billy Eichner is internet gold and will stay in our hearts forever. If her birthday is even a fraction as entertaining as this video, it will truly be a special one. Happy birthday, Julianne!
