Now this is flying first-class.

If you're flying American Airlines for the holidays and you happen to forget to stop by the newstand and pick up any number of magazines you would never typically buy, never fear, because Ellen Page is on the cover of the airline's official magazine, American Way. Now, you have a jumping off point to discuss the importance of Ellen Page's visibility as an out woman with the person in the seat next to you who won't stop talking.

Here's what Ellen told American Way about coming out:

“I was just done. It’s so toxic to just be hiding; it becomes so consuming without you even knowing it’s consuming you. You become so complacent in this reality you create. It’s like a bucket, and it’s filling up and filling up and filling up — and finally it just spills over. And I felt guilty for not being out for the LGBT community. I was like, ‘Dude, just say you’re gay.’ … If someone was like, ‘Hey, you’re never going to be in a movie ever again,’ I would have done it anyway.”

Happy flying!
