Olympic winner Caitlyn - formerly Bruce - Jenner caused quite a stir after featuring on a sexy Vanity Fair cover to celebrate coming out as transgender. A template version of the cover has sparked a viral reaction from the trans community, many of whom have been busy making it their own in an attempt to show it's not all about Hollywood style and glamour, and that trans people come in every shape and size.
1. "I think 'MyVanityFairCover' is a really cool trend to showcase a variety of trans experiences beyond those of the very white, very wealthy, and very lucky. So, uh, here’s me!" (Tonyespera.tumblr.com)
2. “Not all of us can or even want to adhere to western cisnormative beauty standards. This doesn’t make us any less beautiful, or any less valid as women." (naidje.tumblr.com)
3. "I certainly don’t feel like I deserve a Vanity Fair cover, but I’m putting this up here anyway because that’s the whole point, isn’t it?" (joyeuse-noelle.tumblr.com)
4. “I’ve felt frustrated and useless and overwhelmed by opinions on transgender women and how we’re ‘supposed’ to look if we want to be taken seriously.” (rambleonamazon.tumblr.com)
5. "Trans people are everywhere." (@boycotlife)
